Who attends
The alleged father and the child attend with a parent or legal guardian who can consent. Another adult may attend for support. Every adult signs before a kit is opened.
What you receive
The laboratory report states whether the tested man is excluded or gives a probability that he is the biological father of the tested child. It does not decide custody, names on a birth certificate, or what a family should do next.
